Why Client-Side PDF Assembly is the Modern Standard for Privacy

Traditional online PDF editors require you to upload your sensitive contracts, tax returns, architectural blueprints, and medical records to third-party cloud servers. This introduces compliance risks under GDPR, HIPAA, and corporate data governance policies.\n\nToolique executes 100% in-browser document compilation. Utilizing modern WebAssembly and JavaScript binary streams, your PDF files are parsed, restructured, and saved entirely within local RAM. This guarantees total air-gapped security and zero data exposure.

Advanced Splicing: Page Filtering, Rotation & Auto Indexing

Modern document preparation frequently requires combining disparate source files with varying standards:\n\n- **Granular Page Slicing**: Avoid pre-splitting documents by defining precise ranges (e.g., extracting pages 1 to 4 from an appendix and pages 10 to 12 from a contract).\n- **Orientation Correction**: Instantly correct sideways or upside-down scans with 90-degree rotational transforms before compilation.\n- **Automated Document Index**: Generate a dedicated Table of Contents sheet listing each section title, page count, and starting page number.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are my confidential PDF documents uploaded to any remote server?
No, absolutely not. The entire merging, reordering, scaling, and pagination process executes 100% locally inside your web browser using WebAssembly and pure client-side JavaScript (pdf-lib). No document bytes or personal data ever leave your device.
Can I select only specific pages from each PDF instead of merging the whole file?
Yes! In the Document Queue, you can enter custom page ranges for each file (e.g. "1-5", "2, 4, 8-10", "odd", or "even"). Only the designated pages will be copied into the final merged document.
What happens if my PDFs have mixed page orientations or different sizes (e.g. A4 and Letter)?
By default, Toolique preserves original dimensions and landscape/portrait orientations for every page. If you require a uniform document, select "Standard A4", "US Letter", or "A3 Blueprint" in Assembly Config to automatically scale and center all pages proportionally.
Can I add sequential page numbers across the entire combined PDF?
Yes. Toggle "Unified Page Numbering" in Assembly Config to stamp continuous page numbers (such as "Page X of Y", "X / Y", or "— X —") with customizable position, font size, and the option to skip the cover page.
Is there a file size or page limit when merging PDFs?
There are no artificial software limits or paywalls. The maximum capacity is governed purely by your computer’s browser memory (RAM), easily handling hundreds of pages and multi-hundred-megabyte document bundles.
